The 6th TOOLS FOR LIFE school in Mbousnakh is in full operation.
We are very pleased to report that the Collège in Mbousnakh was inaugurated in April and is now in full operation. The school counts 458 students divided into 7 classes. 10 teachers, 3 security guards and the headmaster form the staff. We are very proud, that the students took the BFEM exams for the first time this year. This is a true achievement in light of the difficult learning conditions the students had to cope with over the last 4 years before the new Collège was finished.
The inauguration was a very festive event. The local politicians, the chiefs of the village, the bishops representatives as well as teachers, students and their parents celebrated the opening. The police music corps played the Senegal anthem while the ensign was flagged. The Ethnie Sereer entertained the auditorium with folk dances and the students wore tees saying „Remercie de tout coeur L’ONG Hilfe für Afrika“. The highlight was the official handover of the new school to the headmaster. The following week 3 TV stations and 2 newspapers reported of the inauguration. A fabulous echo to a fabulous project.
